HEMA Deck

The HEMA Deck is an educational card deck inspired by the practice and traditions of Historical European Martial Arts. Designed as both a learning aid and a collectible item, it presents guards, techniques, and core concepts drawn from historical fencing traditions.

The deck covers four major HEMA disciplines, each linked to a suit of cards: longsword, rapier, sabre, and sword & buckler. Cards illustrate key positions, actions, and weapon features, offering a clear visual introduction to the foundations of historical fencing.

The artwork draws inspiration from historical sources, including the fencing compilations of Paulus Hector Mair, blending period iconography with modern illustration. Produced in the classic poker card format (63 × 88 mm), the deck contains 55 cards, including 3 jokers, accompanied by a 48-page booklet explaining the positions shown.
