This bill ("guissarme" in French, "ronca" or "rancone" in Italian, "Hippe" in German) is based on examples from the beginning of the 15th century in Western Europe. This particular shaped bill is commonly known as "English".
Though there is no real consensus on the difference in head shape between the two, George Silver specified in his Paradoxes of Defence (1599) that the black bill should be 5 or 6 feet (1.5 or 1.8 m) long, while the forest bill should be 8 or 9 feet (2.4 or 2.7 m) long.
We advise you to mount this simulator on a 3 cm (1-1/4") diverter round or octagonal haft, as well as to add a sleeve buffer, both of which are also sold on our site.
This range of simulators is developed for HEMA by Black Armory. The synthetic material allows safe use of the simulator while providing possibilities for customization (painting, some reshaping, etc.). These last characteristics also make these products excellent for parallel uses: re-enactment, stage, cinema, or even cosplay. (Haft sold separately)
